INTERFERENCIA 001
CLAUDIA RUÍZ HERRERA (ARGENTINA)
Title: Interferencia de vida
Description: Ruíz Herrera's interference focused specifically on the articulation of disquieting aesthetics. The artist chose one of the main hotels in the city, precisely where other artists were staying, to set up a tragic and shocking scene. One one of the upper floors balcony she hung a gigantography that showed her in a snapshot leaping out of the building. To complete the operation she lied just at the hotel entrance door, stained with red spots pretending to be dead. On a downtown street with fluent traffic what the artist offered any passer-by was the possibility to see a mock death that would create concern, gruesomeness or uncertaintly.
Interference was performed at Junín, Buenos Aires, October 2005, in the frame of the International Meeting of Action Art INTERFERENCIAS. Curator: Silvio De Gracia.
